5 Ways to Relax

5 Ways to Relax

It’s no secret that life can be stressful. Our schedules can be hectic, and right now, we’re battling inflation as well as a pandemic on top of life’s daily stresses. So it’s normal to feel like you need to take a break every now and then just to calm down.
We want to help you breathe a little easier. In fact, a priority of ours at Club13 Herbals is helping people in their individual pursuits of happiness. So here are our top five ways to unwind and relax when you just need a few minutes to yourself.

1. CBD

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the more than 100 phytochemical compounds found within the cannabis plant. Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is another popular cannabinoid. Because THC is the main psychoactive compound found in the marijuana plant, it often leads people to experience a state of euphoria.
Though CBD can contain trace amounts of THC, it’s a non-psychoactive compound and doesn’t create the same “high” that THC does. While you may not experience the same type of euphoria by using CBD, many people assert that it has an array of benefits.
For example, there is some research to indicate that CBD can provide relief, improve sleep quality, and calm nerves. If you’re interested in trying CBD, you can choose from a variety of health and beauty products. From supplements to lotions and oils, there are many types of CBD products on the market. Just be sure to consult with your doctor about the risks and potential benefits of CBD before incorporating it into your daily routine.

2. Kratom Powder

Kratom is an herb derived from the leaves of an evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia. In fact, kratom has been used for its medicinal purposes in Southeast Asia for hundreds of years.
Kratom can be used as either an energy booster or a relaxant and various strains can have various effects. In low amounts, kratom can help counteract fatigue by elevating energy levels. Higher amounts of kratom, on the other hand, have relaxing and calming effects.
Like CBD, kratom can be found in a variety of forms. Kratom can come in capsule form, for instance, or mixed with liquid.

3. Essential Oils

Ever smell a familiar scent and get reminded of a memory from long ago? That’s because there is evidence to suggest a link between our olfactory senses and the amygdala, the part of our brain that processes memory and emotions.
Since olfactory senses are connected to the amygdala, pleasant scents can relax you and even boost your mood. So using aromatherapy sprays and oils is another good way to relax and decompress.
There are many aromatherapy oils you can apply topically to pressure points on your body or spritz throughout your home. Lavender, for instance, can calm, soothe, and relax us. You can even use it as a pillow spray before bed if you have trouble sleeping. According to the Mayo Clinic, other aromatherapy scents to explore for relaxation include jasmine, chamomile, bergamot, rose, clary sage, neroli, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, and vanilla.
Benefits of aromatherapy use include calming the senses, improving sleep quality, and boosting our mood. If you want to use essential oils for a particular purpose, look up the effect particular aromatherapy scents are intended to have and then select the one or ones that will be most useful to you.

4. Mindful Meditation

One way to relax our minds and bodies simultaneously is through mindful meditation. Studies suggest that mindful meditation can lead to improved physical and mental well-being. In fact, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a form of meditation therapy developed specifically for the purpose of stress management.
When we speak of mindful meditation, we’re referring to clearing your mind, focusing on the present, and concentrating on intentional breathing. Mindful meditation can be practiced while sitting upright on a mat or by lying down on your back.
If you want to give mindful meditation a try on your own, The Harvard Gazette has some good tips to help you get started. You can also look for group classes in your area. Keep in mind that to maximize the relaxation benefits of mindful meditation, you should adopt it as a daily practice.

5. Drink Herbal Tea

Speaking of tea, herbal tea has many health benefits of its own. Just like aromatherapy scents, there are a wide variety of herbal teas, each having a range of unique benefits.
According to Cleveland Clinic, green tea is the best tea for overall health. If you want to focus on relaxation, on the other hand, chamomile tea is a good option. That’s because the chamomile plant contains apigenin, a compound that attaches to receptors in the brain, helping to calm and even lull you to sleep. Valerian root is another type of herbal tea that can help you destress and has also been shown to improve sleep quality.
Stress can wreak havoc on your mental, physical, and emotional health. But we want to help people like you destress so that you can have an improved quality of life. Club13 Herbals has been doing so since its founding in 1999. For decades, we’ve been educating people and raising awareness about the benefits of kratom. The secret is out. So tap into the potential of kratom by discovering it for yourself.
