CBD FAQ

CBD FAQ

These days, thereโ€™s CBD buzz everywhere you look — from social media timelines to legislative chambers. The retail industry is working overtime to keep up as their products continue to fly off their shelves, and new products are continually being introduced to the market. People are drinking CBD in tea, using it to wash their hair, taking it in pill form, and putting droppers full of the oil under their tongues. But old misconceptions about hemp, Marijuana, and โ€œreefer madnessโ€ still linger as itโ€™s popularity grows. There are a lot of misconceptions and myths surrounding CBD and we at Club13 Herbals spend a lot of time debunking these myths for our valued customers. Here are some of the most common questions we get:ย

FAQ #1: Does CBD Get you High?

CBD does not get you high! CBD is non-intoxicating and is considered extremely safe. Non-intoxicating means it doesnโ€™t make you feel euphoric. The psychoactive component of Marijuana that makes you feel โ€œhighโ€ is THC, which is an entirely different compound than CBD. In fact, CBD is actually a CB1 antagonist, which, in short, means itโ€™ll actually block THCโ€™s intoxicating effects.

FAQ #2: Does CBD only come from Marijuana?

No, no, and no. CBD is in fact present in Marijuana. But when it’s utilized as a legal health supplement, it’s extracted from hemp. Hemp-derived CBD is sourced from industrial hemp plants, which are grown mainly for their fiber and seeds. These plants differ from their Marijuana plant cousins in makeup and appearance; they are often skinny with little foliage. Under U.S. law, a hemp plant can contain no more than 0.3% THC. The CBD youโ€™re running into in your local convenience stores is hemp-derived CBD.

FAQ #3: So what are the differences between Hemp and Marijuana?

Hemp and Marijuana might be close cousins as they come from the same plant family. Still, theyโ€™re entirely different in function, cultivation, application, and appearance. Like we said before, Marijuana has high levels of that compound, THC, that gets you โ€œhigh.โ€ Hemp does not. Marijuana plants have thick, lush foliage and flowers that are generally grown and consumed for health purposes or for itโ€™s more intoxicating properties. Hemp plants are skinny with little foliage and no flowers.

FAQ #4: Does CBD make you sleepy?

Technically, CBD is not a sedative. It might make you feel relaxed as it quells your anxiety and calms you, but itโ€™s a common misconception that CBD is a sedative. Marijuana, with its high amounts of THC, definitely has sedative-like effects. CBD, while relaxing, should not limit your day to day functionality. CBD is currently being researched for its soothing properties and downgrading impact on anxiety. Just keep in mind, anxiety relief and sedation are not one and the same!

FAQ #5: How much CBD is too much CBD?

โ€œThe more, the merrierโ€ is not an anecdote one should apply to CBD usage. More does not necessarily mean better in terms of CBD. Research is essential when taking any kind of wellness product. Factors including your body’s metabolism, weight, and general health play a huge part in finding the right frequency and dosage.

FAQ #6: Is all CBD the same?

Research is essential when purchasing a product like CBD. Any credible  vendor selling CBD products online should have a COA, or certificate of analysis readily available for customers to view. This document confirms a product has been thoroughly checked and has passed inspection. At Pursuit of Wellness, we guarantee the highest quality, and we guarantee your satisfaction.
